            St. Joseph's Convent High School, Adilabad is Christian Minority Institution run by the SISTER OF DESTITUTE Educational Society, Adilabad. It stands for spreading Value Education through the compassionate love og Jesus Christ.

 

    The school is situated at the District head quarters to Adilabad. It was started at the request of the then District collectoe, Shri Rajamani, IAS  and the superintendent of Police, Shri Subramanyam IPS.

  

    Rhey felt the need of having and English Medium School, run by dedicated Catholics, in this backward area. They approached His Excellency Bishop Januarius CMI with a request for the same. He in turn put forward the matter to our mother General, Mother Rose Mary S.D. She realising the dire need of this area, gave her consent. The land required for the establishment of the school was provided by the Government and on 14th November 1964, the present school came into existence.

 

    The pioneer sisters had to face a lot of hardships because of the backwardness of the people, lack of rpoper facilities, financial problems and the like. But eventhen they found time for house visitings and educating the poor illiterate villagers after their regular school work. They continue to do this noble task to this day.

 

    At present St. Joseph's Convent High School has classes from Nursery to Tenth Standard.

 

    In the year 1979 the school was acccorded permanent recognition by the Government of A.P
